People of Ehi Launch 10th Gali Za, Call for Unity and Accelerated Development

The chiefs and people of Ehi in the Ketu North Municipality have officially launched the 10th edition of the Ehi Nutome Gali Za (Festival), with strong calls for unity, strategic planning, and accelerated socio-economic development in the area.


The colourful launch ceremony marked the beginning of activities for the week-long festival, scheduled to take place during the last week of September 2026. This year’s edition is themed “A Decade of Mirroring the Future”, celebrating ten years of using culture as a platform to mobilize resources and drive community development.


Speaking at the launch, traditional leaders and community representatives emphasized the importance of unity among the people of Ehi to harness the full potential of the festival for the progress of the area.
They noted that over the past decade, the Gali Za festival has grown significantly in stature and has become a major tool for fostering togetherness, attracting investment, and promoting the rich cultural heritage of the people.


The festival is expected to feature a series of activities including traditional dances, durbar of chiefs, health walks, business forums, and youth empowerment programmes aimed at promoting development and social cohesion.
This year’s edition is anticipated to draw large numbers of indigenes, tourists, and development partners to Ehi, providing a strong platform for networking and collaboration toward the community’s growth.
The launch of the 10th Gali Za has been welcomed by residents, who see it as a symbol of resilience, progress, and hope for a brighter future for the people of Ehi.
