TOLECGH Endorses Mandatory Mental Health Assessment for Employment

The Total Life Enhancement Centre Ghana (TOLECGH) has thrown its full support behind the government’s proposal to introduce mandatory mental health assessment for all prospective employees in both public and private sectors.

The organization, which specializes in mental health advocacy and support services, described the move as “a bold and timely step” toward addressing the rising cases of mental health issues in the Ghanaian workforce.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, TOLECGH noted that many employees suffer from undiagnosed stress, depression, and anxiety, which negatively affect productivity and workplace safety.

The Executive Director of TOLECGH urged the government to ensure that the policy is implemented with confidentiality, professionalism, and proper follow-up support systems for those who may need treatment.
