President John Dramani Mahama has paid tribute to senior citizens across the country, describing them as the foundation upon which Ghana’s democratic and socio-economic development has been built.
Speaking at a ceremony organized to recognize distinguished elderly citizens, the President commended retirees from the public and private sectors for their decades of dedication to national service. He noted that the country’s progress was made possible by the sacrifices of generations who worked tirelessly to build key institutions.
President Mahama also reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving healthcare, pension schemes, and social welfare for older persons. Beneficiaries at the event received citations, plaques, and welfare packages in recognition of their contributions.
Several award recipients expressed appreciation for the recognition, urging younger generations to embrace integrity, discipline, and patriotism.
