ACCPA Begins Second Ghana–China Media Fellowship to Strengthen International Journalism

The Africa–China Centre for Policy and Advisory (ACCPA) has officially launched the second edition of its Ghana–China Media Fellowship programme, aimed at strengthening media capacity and deepening understanding of Ghana–China relations.

The fellowship brings together a new cohort of journalists, media practitioners, and communication professionals from across Ghana to participate in intensive training sessions focused on international affairs, economic cooperation, diplomacy, and development reporting.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, organisers said the programme seeks to equip journalists with the knowledge and skills required to report accurately and objectively on issues relating to Ghana–China cooperation and broader Africa–China engagement.

Participants will undergo training in data journalism, policy analysis, economic reporting, and international relations while engaging experts from academia, government, diplomacy, and the private sector.

Officials believe the fellowship will contribute to more informed public discourse and strengthen the role of the media in promoting mutual understanding between Ghana and China.

The initiative forms part of ACCPA’s broader mission to enhance policy dialogue, knowledge exchange, and media professionalism in Ghana and across Africa.
