Renowned legal practitioner and statesman Tsatsu Tsikata has urged the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) to raise the standard of governance and demonstrate exceptional leadership in addressing the country’s challenges.
Speaking at a public forum in Accra, Tsikata emphasized that Ghanaians have high expectations of the current administration and expect policies that deliver tangible improvements in the lives of citizens.
He noted that political victory alone is not enough and stressed the need for effective governance, accountability, economic stability, and inclusive development.
According to him, the NDC has a responsibility to prove that it can govern differently by strengthening public institutions, promoting transparency, and ensuring that national resources are managed efficiently.
Tsikata further called on government officials to remain focused on delivering results rather than engaging in partisan disputes, adding that citizens would ultimately judge the administration based on its performance.
He highlighted the importance of creating opportunities for young people, improving public services, and fostering an environment that encourages investment and economic growth.
The legal expert also stressed the need for unity and national cohesion, urging political leaders to place the interests of the country above partisan considerations.
Observers say the remarks add to the growing national conversation about governance, accountability, and expectations surrounding the current administration.
Political analysts believe such calls could influence policy discussions as the government seeks to implement its development agenda and maintain public confidence.
