Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan was visibly overwhelmed with emotions as he reunited with Roslyn, the daughter of his late best friend, the renowned Ghanaian musician Castro (Under Fire).
In a heartfelt video circulating widely on social media, Gyan met the young lady and struggled to hold back tears while introducing her. He revealed that the last time he saw her, she was only two years old.
“This is the daughter of Under Fire. She was two years old when I saw her. She’s a big girl now,” Gyan said, his voice filled with emotion.
The emotional reunion has touched the hearts of many Ghanaians, reigniting memories of the close friendship between Asamoah Gyan and Castro, who tragically disappeared in July 2014 during a jet-skiing trip at Ada.
Gyan, who has always spoken fondly of his late friend, admitted that the moment brought back painful memories.
“I don’t want to be emotional, but it is what it is,” he added.
Castro’s disappearance in 2014 remains one of the most talked-about mysteries in Ghana’s entertainment industry. He was with Gyan and others during the trip when he went missing in the Volta River.
The touching reunion between Gyan and Castro’s daughter has sparked an outpouring of love and nostalgia on social media, with many Ghanaians praising the former Black Stars striker for keeping the memory of his friend alive and showing love to his daughter.
