KNUST SONSOI Initiative: More Than 4,000 Laptops Distributed to Needy Students

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), through its Students’ Online Support Initiative (SONSOI), has distributed over 4,000 laptops to needy but brilliant students.
The initiative, which aims to bridge the digital divide and promote equitable access to quality education, has benefited students from various tertiary institutions and senior high schools across the country.
At a brief ceremony to mark the latest distribution, KNUST officials reaffirmed their commitment to supporting students who lack access to essential learning tools.
“Education should not be a privilege for a few. Through the SONSOI project, we are ensuring that no student is left behind due to lack of digital tools,” a representative of the initiative said.
Beneficiaries expressed profound appreciation to KNUST and its partners for the support, noting that the laptops will significantly enhance their academic performance and research capabilities.
The SONSOI project continues to receive commendation from education stakeholders for its direct impact on students, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds.
