More than 1,400 delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Atebubu-Amantin Constituency are expected to cast their ballots in the party’s constituency executive elections as part of the nationwide exercise to elect new grassroots leaders.
The elections, scheduled for Saturday, July 11, will see delegates elect executives to oversee the affairs of the party in the constituency for the next four years. The exercise forms part of the NPP’s broader reorganization strategy aimed at strengthening its structures ahead of future national elections.
Party officials have expressed confidence that the polls will be conducted peacefully and transparently, urging delegates to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes unity and upholds the democratic principles of the party.
The positions to be contested include Constituency Chairman, First and Second Vice Chairpersons, Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Organizer, Women’s Organizer, Youth Organizer, Treasurer, Communications Officer and Research Officer.
Electoral officials have assured delegates that all necessary arrangements, including ballot papers and election materials, have been completed to ensure a smooth voting process. Security personnel are also expected to be deployed to maintain law and order throughout the exercise.
The Atebubu-Amantin election is one of several constituency contests taking place simultaneously across the country as the NPP continues its internal electoral calendar.
Party leaders have appealed to contestants to respect the outcome of the elections and resolve any disputes through the party’s established grievance mechanisms rather than actions that could undermine party unity.
The constituency executive elections are expected to play a key role in repositioning the NPP at the grassroots level as it prepares for upcoming political activities, including the election of regional and national executives later this year.
