EC Deputy Commissioners: Bossman Asare Resigns, Samuel Tettey Attains Retirement Age

The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has witnessed significant changes at the top leadership level as Deputy Commissioner Bossman Asare has officially resigned from his position, while another Deputy Commissioner, Samuel Tettey, has attained the mandatory retirement age.

President John Dramani Mahama has formally accepted the resignation of Mr. Bossman Asare, who served as Deputy Chairperson in charge of Operations. Sources indicate that his resignation was on personal grounds. Meanwhile, Mr. Samuel Tettey has reached the statutory retirement age and will be exiting the Commission after years of dedicated service.

The Electoral Commission is yet to issue an official statement on who will replace the outgoing officials. Political analysts believe these changes could have implications for the Commission’s preparedness toward future elections, particularly the 2028 general elections.
