In a deeply disturbing incident, a teenage girl at Agona Ahanta-Domeabra in the Ahanta West Municipality of the Western Region has been confirmed dead, following an alleged sexual assault in the early hours of Monday, involving her stepfather.
According to preliminary accounts, the victim was found in distress on a farm path by two residents who confirmed she reportedly disclosed being restrained and repeatedly sexually assaulted by her stepfather.
While attempting to save her, the stepfather is reported to have emerged from hiding and attacked the two residents, prompting them to flee into town for help. Upon their return with help, the young girl was found brutally assaulted with cement blocks and unconscious. She was later pronounced dead at a health facility in the area, whilst efforts are made to capture the alleged perpetrator.
