The Member of Parliament for Ho Central and the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) have provided relief items to residents of Hodzoga who were affected by recent flooding, as part of efforts to support families displaced by the disaster.

The donation, which included bags of rice, cooking oil, bottled water, mattresses, blankets, toiletries and other essential household items, was aimed at easing the hardship faced by victims whose homes and properties were damaged by the floods.

During the presentation, the Ho Central MP expressed sympathy to the affected families and assured them of continued support as they work to rebuild their lives. The MP emphasized that the welfare of constituents remains a priority and pledged to collaborate with relevant agencies to provide additional assistance where necessary.

The Municipal Chief Executive also commended emergency responders and volunteers for their swift intervention during the flooding and called on residents to heed weather warnings and avoid building or settling in flood-prone areas.

He noted that the Assembly would continue working with the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) and other stakeholders to assess the extent of the damage and provide further relief to affected communities.

Some beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the timely intervention, saying the relief items would help them meet their immediate needs while they recover from the disaster.

The recent floods in Hodzoga caused significant damage to homes, personal belongings and farmlands, forcing several families to seek temporary shelter.

Local authorities have reiterated their commitment to strengthening disaster preparedness measures and improving drainage infrastructure to reduce the impact of flooding during the rainy season.

The donation reflects ongoing efforts by government officials and disaster management agencies to provide humanitarian assistance and support recovery in communities affected by natural disasters.
