Kennedy Agyapong Threatens to Reveal Alleged Internal NPP Secrets Amid Growing Tensions

Former Assin Central Member of Parliament and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful Kennedy Agyapong has sparked fresh controversy within the party after issuing a strong warning to party leaders and members, suggesting he could reveal damaging information about past activities if he continues to face criticism or provocation.

Speaking during a public engagement, Agyapong alleged that the NPP’s flagship Agenda 111 healthcare infrastructure programme was mishandled during its implementation. He claimed that certain individuals benefited financially from the project, contributing to delays and the failure to complete many of the hospitals as initially planned.

The outspoken businessman and politician stated that he possesses information about events that took place behind the scenes during the party’s time in government and during election campaigns. He warned that he would not hesitate to disclose what he knows if attempts are made to silence or undermine him.

“They think I will keep quiet about what happened, but I won’t. If they continue to push me, I will speak,” Agyapong reportedly said, signaling his frustration with developments within the party.

His comments have intensified speculation about divisions within the NPP as the party continues efforts to reorganize following recent electoral setbacks. Political analysts say the remarks reflect growing tensions among some senior figures as the party prepares for future internal elections and leadership contests.

Agenda 111 was launched to expand access to healthcare by constructing hospitals across districts that lacked such facilities. While several projects were initiated, many remain under construction, with funding and completion timelines becoming subjects of public debate.

Agyapong’s allegations have already generated significant discussion among party supporters and political observers, with some calling for further clarification and evidence to support the claims.

As of now, the NPP leadership has not officially responded to the latest comments. However, political watchers believe the remarks could further fuel internal debates about accountability, governance, and the party’s future direction.

The development comes at a critical period for the opposition party, which is seeking to rebuild unity and strengthen its structures ahead of future political contests. Whether Agyapong follows through on his threat to disclose additional information remains to be seen, but his latest comments have undoubtedly added a new dimension to ongoing conversations within the NPP.

The controversy is expected to remain a major talking point in Ghana’s political landscape in the coming days as party members and the wider public await reactions from key stakeholders.
