Deputy Attorney-General Justice Srem-Sai has clarified that the withdrawal of former Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo’s review application does not bring all legal proceedings involving her to an end.
Speaking to the media, he explained that although the application seeking a review of the Supreme Court’s earlier decision has been withdrawn, other legal processes connected to the former Chief Justice remain before the courts.
He stressed that the judicial process must be allowed to continue without political interference, adding that every party involved would be given a fair opportunity to present their case under Ghana’s constitutional framework.
The Deputy Attorney-General reiterated government’s commitment to respecting the independence of the judiciary while ensuring that constitutional procedures are followed throughout the ongoing legal proceedings.
